Patch for Windows
2000 SP4 and Windows XP SP2 - BOSâNOVA Twinax Customers
(July 3, 2003) |
| |
Fix for BOSâNOVA Twinax emulations
running on Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 or Windows XP Service
Pack 2. When attempting to run either the BOSâNOVA
Twinax emulation (or Twinax Client) or the Twinax Wizard,
the Wizard returns the error message 'TWZ045 (Internal
error 13) Twinax adapter not found'. The problem exists
for BOS Native Plus adapter users as well. The old BSTWXPCI.SYS
file, which is required for the Twinax driver installation
(installed with the BSTWXPCI.INF file), allocated adapter
resources in Windows. Because Microsoft made some changes
with regard to security, the low-level Twinax driver is
unable to access the adapter in this environment.
We have prepared a file that fixes the above-mentioned problem. Follow these instructions to apply the patch:
- Download
the patch by clicking here. Save the file to your
hard drive.
- Unpack the patch files by locating the downloaded
file and double-clicking it -- note the directory
to where the files are unpacked.
- If PC is Windows 2000, run the resulting BSCLEAN.EXE
file and follow directions below.
- If PC is XP, follow directions below.
- Right-click on My Computer and select properties.
- Select the hardware tab and then select the device
manager.
- Find the BOS stealth mode PCI twinax under ? OTHER
DEVICES.
- Right-click on it and select properties.
- Select the driver tab and select update driver.
- Follow through the wizard and point to the location
of the previously extracted files for the updated
driver and complete the wizard.

We have prepared a new Twinax driver that solves the Windows 2000 restart problem when running the Twinax Wizard for Twinax Client and Advanced Server for SAA customers. To install the driver, download the self-extracting executable file (click here for Twinax Client or here for Advanced Server for SAA) to your installation folder, double-click the file to extract it, and then run the configuration Wizard. The Wizard will automatically detect the driver update and prompt you to replace old version. When you answer "Yes", the new driver will be copied to Windows\System32\Drivers folder. |
