August 10, 2004 - Martin Pladgeman, president of
BOSaNOVA Inc., unveiled the newest members of its award-winning
BOSâNOVA Thin Client family. The new BOSâNOVA
LTC 1000 and XTC 1000 provide exceptional performance
for OpenOffice and other Java-based solutions, thereby
enhancing personal productivity. With the release of
its fastest and most robust Thin Client, BOSaNOVA proves
once again that it stands alone as an innovator and
industry leader at the forefront of emerging technologies.
"One major benefit of this new series is the performance
boost to users who take advantage of the OpenOffice
suite which is offered on both the Linux (LTC) and Windows
XP Embedded (XTC) products," Pladgeman says. OpenOffice
(www.openoffice.org) is a full suite of personal productivity
applications, including Writer, Calc, Impress (presentations)
and Draw.
"Any Java-based products will also benefit from
the exceptional performance offered by this new unit,"
Pladgeman adds.
"With nearly twice the performance, the BOSâNOVA
1000 series sets new standards for Thin Clients,"
Pladgeman notes. The hardware features a Via 1GHz CPU,
built-in AGP 84X 2D/3D Graphic Accelerator, 10/100 Ethernet,
Audio, PCI expansion slot and PCMCIA slot standard.
A DVI connector for Flat Screen monitors is included
along with the standard SVGA socket.
"Another benefit is expandability. While PCI and
PCMCIA slots are often optional extras, our product
has these as standard. An optional Smart Card reader
provides additional security."
