COMMON, Toronto, October 18, 2004 (revised October
25, 2004) – BOSaNOVA, Inc., the market leader in iSeries connectivity
solutions and award-winning Thin Clients, announced today that it is shipping
two models of its new wireless tablet Thin Clients. The BOSâNOVA 8375
Wireless Tablet is based on the Windows CE.Net operating system, and the BOSâNOVA
8368 Wireless Tablet is based on Windows XP Embedded.
“We added wireless tablets to our line of Thin Clients because of customer
demand. These devices are especially suited to warehouse and medical applications,”
said Martin Pladgeman, President of BOSaNOVA, Inc.
“A very handy feature is that the user can launch a macro from customizable
hot spots on the main screen,” Pladgeman explains. “The macro plays
back the recorded keystroke sequence that will take you all the way through
the application. It makes quite a big difference when you don’t have to
go through multiple touch screens.”
Like all BOSaNOVA Thin Clients, both models of the Wireless Thin Clients can
be centrally managed with BOSaNOVA’s advanced management software, making
it easy to apply updates and perform other maintenance tasks.
Both models come standard
with IEEE 802.11b wireless network support, with optional support for IEEE 8-2.11a,
IEEE 802.11g, Bluetooth and wireless WAN. For Thin Client/Server computing,
they provide both RDP and ICA protocols for Microsoft and Citrix Terminal Servers.
The terminal emulation suite includes IBM 3270 and 5250, DEC VT, Wyse and HP
support. The tablets’ brilliant 8.4” TFT Active Matrix LCD touch
display comes in a robust yet lightweight metal enclosure, with a rubber jacket
for enhanced handling and ruggedness. An optional snap-on, hot-swappable expansion
battery is available.

The BOSaNOVA wireless tablets are available through the BOSaNOVA North American
