BOScom Releases New e-TwinPrint Protocol Converter to Support Single Twinax Printers

Teradion, Israel, July 17, 2002 - B.O.S. Better On-line Solutions' subsidiary, BOScom, announces the release of the latest member of the BOScom product family: the e-TwinPrint (PID 4691). BOScom designed the new product in response to demand in the marketplace for a converter that supports a single Twinax device -- typically a printer.

"Now, workhorse SCS and IPDS printers in remote locations can be easily supported and managed over the Web," explains Martin Pladgeman, President BOScom US. "AS/400 and iSeries shops can protect their Twinax printer investment, even as they move the rest of their organization to a LAN environment."

The BOScom e-TwinPrint provides several benefits:

Web-managed configuration and management. Unlike others that require a PC with configuration and management software to be installed on the same LAN, the e-TwinPrint can be managed remotely over the Web. This permits IT staff to handle problems directly, without having to talk an end user on location through complex diagnostics.
Dumb Terminal Setup. Initial setup can be performed with a dumb terminal, an advantage when the device is located in a small remote site without a PC.
IPDS Printing. With the e-TwinPrint, the remote command service is used to create and maintain the IPDS printer device description on the host.
SCS Printing. The e-TwinPrint implements TN5250e technology to provide support for all SCS printers.
Upgradeable. The e-TwinPrint can be upgraded via a software key to support up to 10 devices.
