Phoenix, Arizona,
August 26, 2004 - "When
Hurricane Charley hit Florida, it knocked out two pharmacies--one
in Naples and one in Longwood, outside of Orlando. We
were able to utilize the BOScom controller via the phone
lines in Naples, but there was no phone service to the
pharmacy in Orlando. I drove the controller to a dentist's
office, five miles away, and hooked up the controller
to the phone. We were up and running in a timely fashion,
printing Rx labels and prescription documents so that
we could get medicine out to those who needed it,"
reports the Manager of IT Operations of a large Florida-based
pharmaceutical company.
"The
BOScom controllers saved the day! Our competition could
not get this done. They had to run their operations
out of the Tampa office and drive everything back to
Orlando," he says. "We could have done this
from a home, hotel, or anywhere with a dial tone."
The
company services nursing homes and skilled care facilities
in 36 states and has BOScom controllers in pharmacies
from Florida to Hawaii.
"When
I saw the hurricane approaching, I got the BOScom controllers,"
the IT Manager recounts. "We were able to hook
up four devices to the controller and do all of our
work over the phone lines. I could not do this with
my old controllers from another vendor, and am recommending
that we replace all of them with BOScom controllers."
