San Antonio, Texas (COMMON Expo), May 2, 2004 - BOScom, the market leader in iSeries connectivity solutions and award-winning Thin Clients, announced today the addition of two new models to the BOSâNOVA product family: the BOSâNOVA TBT-350 text-based terminal and BOSâNOVA WTC-350 thin client. Both models directly address the requirement to provide affordable green screen replacements for enterprises with server-based networks.
As corporate enterprises move away from dumb terminal computing environments, growing numbers of IT departments are turning to the world of thin client computing, which offers the following benefits:

- Efficient yet economical SiS 550 chipset provides excellent entry-level solution
- Powered by Microsoft Windows CE.Net v4.2 operating system
- IE 6.0 (CE version), RDP 5.2, and ICA 7, as well as Citrix NFuse and Tarantella, are included for access to served applications
- Embedded emulations consist of GUI TN5250e, GUI TN3270e, VT100, VT220, VT400, SCO, and X Term with SSH
- Two operating modes are supported:
- Desktop mode, featuring taskbar with icons for easy switching between tasks
- WBT mode, suited to full screen applications
Features of the new BOSâNOVA TBT-350 text-based terminal:
- Powered by Enterprise-ready Linux operating system
- RDP 5.2, ICA 7, as well as Citrix NFuse and Tarantella, are included for access to served applications
- Embedded emulations consist of GUI TN5250e (including split screen support), GUI TN3270e, VT220, VT100, Wyse 60, X-Term, and X-Windows
- Support for three operating modes:
- Windows 2000 style Desktop mode
- Text-based setup for ease-of-use in Terminal mode
- WBT mode for full screen applications
Features Common to Both the BOSâNOVA WTC-350 and the BOSâNOVA TBT-350:
- Support for PS2 mouse and keyboard, one serial port, one parallel port, two USB ports, audio in and out, and internal power supply
- Supported server platforms include iSeries, pSeries, xSeries, zSeries, Windows and Unix
